Individual Nutrition Counseling (Zoom)

When our children don't eat well, it is hard on EVERYONE.

As a mom of a sensory eater, I completely understand the challenges that come with figuring out what will and won’t work with nutrition.

This is a very limited option, as I am a college professor and only take a small number of clients who must reside in the state of California.

  • Doctor of Science in Public Health Nutrition (D.Sc.) at Harvard University

Master of Public Health (M.P.H.), UCLA

    Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (R.D.N.)

Bachelor of Science in Clinical Nutrition (B.S.), UC Davis

Extensive training in pediatric nutrition and the SOS Approach to Feeding

Author on numerous publications on parenting and child feeding.

  • A nutrition expert on your medical care team solely devoted to monitoring and assessing your child’s growth, nutritional status, and dietary needs.

    Personalized advice

Each child is unique and has their own preferences, challenges, and strengths.

Judgment-free collaboration to consider all possible strategies to enhance and improve your child’s growth, wellness, and diet. Fast food, slow food, organic, or conventional - we can find a way to make it work.

    Ethical, fad-free recommendations .

I am committed to evidence-based practice and limit any laboratory assessments to those that are medically necessary.

A foods-first approach wherever possible. Since few supplements undergo safety testing and are rarely tested on children, I work with families to try all food options and then work on safe introduction of supplements as needed.

    Respect and understanding.

As a mother of an autistic child, I understand the maze of services, referrals, uncertainty, and ongoing changes that we cope with in raising our kids.

  • Virtual nutritional assessment via Zoom

Most education/sessions will occur only with parents vs. with the child

Personalized nutrition-focused education and goals for child, family, caregivers, or teachers

Problem-solving to address dietary deficiencies in the context of dysregulated eating(picky, overeating, medication-induced dietary changes)

Discussion of referral options if challenges reach other disciplines (e.g. sensory feeding therapy)
